Lake Harris, Florida

It was our first tournament at Lake Harris. It was mid-february and I got a sunburn. I'M IN LOVE! Can we move here?

It was an incredible 2 weeks of sun, fun and fishing. Here are a few highlights of our favorites around Lake Harris:

THE OYSTER TROF - It doesnt sound fancy and it's not, but they have the BEST Raw Oysters we've had in the continental USA. They literally have more square ft of bar seating than most liquor bars and you'll find shuckers so fast that you'll have one down and they will have 11 more ready to go. You literally push them off the trough and they ask if you want to reload. It gets pretty busy on the weekends so go early or call ahead for seating. Also, parking is very tight so don't plan to bring your boat to this one and if you're eating with others, go in one vehicle.

MOUNT DORA Downtown District - SUPER ADORABLE Shops covering multiple small town blocks. From gifts, apparel, restaurants, and bakeries. I highly recommend the Sushi downtown at WAVE!!!! The Tuna Nachos are OVER THE TOP INCREDIBLE!!!!! And my favorite SWEET was Le Petit Sweet - perfect bite-size, French-inspired Indulgence. Definitely go for the Cream Puffs and Mini Eclairs. You can thank me later.

In Yalaha - be sure to make a stop at the Yalaha German Bakery - my favorite was the PEACH TURNOVERS. Everything is baked fresh daily, beat the crowd by going early or after the morning rush. Three of us ladies mowed through about 6 shared treats. My second favorite was the Streusel!

Finally, my stop nearly every day for lunch was the new PUBLIX between Yalaha and Eustis. YES, I'm serious. from 9-11 or from 3-5 you can catch the Sushi makers there and they will make custom sushi bowls. SOOOO GOOD! My favorite custom bowl there is: Tuna, Rice, spicy Crab Salad, Cucumbers, Avocado, Sesame Seeds, and spicy mayo and eel sauce. I'm so hungry thinking about it now.

NO nail shops to recommend... It wasn't time for a fill :) NO gyms to recommend, Rowdy and I enjoyed cardio in the warm, Florida sun! WE're off to Alabama next!

Fish you were here, Randi
